Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information AI Told You So Ltd collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
AI Told You So Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We’re a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17007285). Registered office: 2 Upton Road, Birkenhead, Merseyside, CH41 0DF.
What we collect
- Contact form. If you fill in our contact form, we collect your name, company name, email address, phone number, a preferred time to chat, and anything else you choose to tell us.
- WhatsApp and email. If you message us on WhatsApp or email us, we receive your name, phone number or email address, and the content of your messages.
- Website visits. Like most websites, our hosting and security providers automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
- Visitor statistics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they look at. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t store anything on your device, and doesn’t identify you personally.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call or presentation.
- To provide our services if you become a client, and to keep proper business records.
- To keep this website secure and working properly.
Our legal basis is legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us and running our business), taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, for clients, performing our contract and meeting our legal obligations (such as tax records).
We will never sell your information, and we won’t add you to a marketing mailing list without asking.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with the service providers we use to run the business:
- Zapier – runs our contact form.
- IONOS – website hosting and email.
- Cloudflare – website security, performance and visitor statistics.
- WhatsApp (Meta) – if you choose to message us there.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they use legally recognised safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as we work together, plus 6 years for tax and legal purposes.
- Website logs: kept by our hosting and security providers for a short period, in line with their own policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation.
To make a request, contact us using the contact form, message us on WhatsApp, or write to our registered office. We’ll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
